in san jose. police are investigating a fatal stabbing. ktvu janine de la vega is on the scene and tells us what police say they have led up to the violence. good morning, janine. >> reporter: good morning, tori. in the last half hour homicide investigators arrived here on the scene. right now they are on the backside of the building. starting to collect evidence. what we do know is that the stabbing happened while a party was going on at one of the businesses that you see right there. it's called the agency. just after 3:00 this morning police were called to the photography business on oakland road. officers say a party with about 30 minute was going when a fight broke out and a man got somebodied in his stomach. he was rushed to the hospital where he died shortly there after. >> we got several witnesses that are taking the police officer. >> musers says that were sever witness that left the scene while they arrived. one guest told us it was a graduation party. officers say the man who died was in his 30s. his identity is not been released yet. officers when we spoke with them, they wer

condition. a witness on the scene told ktvu four people were detained. he said he saw four people in handcuffs while a fourth was injured. we will bring you a live update just as soon as we can get more information. >>> now to solano county where a hit-and-run driver killed a man and his dog today. we're going to eric rasmussen who has the story. >> reporter: one neighbor told me she saw the tire tracks but saw no man and no suspect. >> they were going too far for the neighborhood. left him for dead, did not stop. >> reporter: kevin bowl was walking his own dogs when he got the word. his long time friend and neighbor thomas had been hit at the intersection of sutter and 11th street. the man was on his regular walk with his dog corgie. >> i seen all the blood on the street but someone fold me it was just the dog that got hit. >> reporter: emergency responders took him to the hospital but he did not survive. >> the thing that i want is the person who did this to be man enough to come forward. >> reporter: they don't care, they will hit you and keep going. they hit a dog, keep going

francisco allie rasmus ktvu channel 2 news. >>> we will turn now to other news. new this morning i want to tell you about a rescue along the side of a by area freeway that happened after a couple crashed their car. that car veered off interstate 880 around 1:30 this morning. it got tangled up in bushes and trees along the fence line. investigators still don't know what went wrong. >> witness described the vehicle suddenly looking as if exiting the freeway. >> police say the car hit the fence at full freeway speed. we don't know the extent of the injuries but authorities say the woman inside that car was able to talk to police. however, the man who was driving suffered a head injury and was not able to communicate with his rescuers. >>> it was a wet and soggy saturday. more rain is on the way for the next few days. the storm also brought cold temperatures to many parts of the bay. and holiday shoppers had to pull out their umbrellas, hats, and coats. san jose workers at an emergency shelter say dozens of people filled their beds because of the cold weather. the rain also caused delays up

problems this morning even though it's clear outside. we begin our storm coverage with ktvu's alex savidge. >> reporter: good morning. a lot of repair work to do out here. la fayette creek runs underneath this street. it flooded. that's us what caused the roadway to -- that's what caused the roadway to collapse. crews will be using this heavy equipment to execute the sinkhole created yesterday, dig debris out from the creek that overflowed yesterday. it was late in the afternoon on sunday, when the soil eroded and the pavement out here just gave way. utility lines that were impacted, a gas line had to be capped, and suerers created a -- sewers created a bypass. now, the cause of this collapse was a pipe that diverts creek water. neighbors told us they could hear it go. >> it sounded like a big thud. a big really, heavy -- it shook the ground. it was a big boom. >> reporter: so now the city is working on a long-term fix out here for this area, perhaps they will put in some sop find kind of -- some kind of a rack so they can catch a lot of the debris that tends to run down the creek when the

starting right now. this is ktvu mornings on 2. >> good morning. welcome to mornings on two. i'm dave clark. >> it's thursday, december 13th. san jose police say that there are some suspicious circumstances surrounding a woman's death. investigators found her body yesterday just a few blocks from the hp pavilion. we have been talking to police in and the coroner. . >> reporter: this case remains a mystery. we just won't have to many more answers until the autopsy is done this morning. someone passing by here looked under this bridge and saw a woman down on the ground here among the dirt and the trees. police say just after three yesterday afternoon they received several calls that a woman was laying face down in the guadalupe river. police confirmed she was dead there. were no obvious signs of trauma and it appeared she was recently deceased. they are investigating and are treating the case as suspicious. the coroner will determine an exact cause of death later on. people who work nearby gave me this reaction this morning. >> it's kind of a concern because i run a business here nea

in the first place. live in san jose allie rasmus ktvu channel 2 news. >>> there are new developments in a recent deadly home invasion. police have named three more men as suspects in the killing of kumra. 21-year-old javier garcia was arrested and booked this week. police also arrested another man deangelo austin in sacramento last night. a fourth suspect 22-year-old raven dixon was arrested earlier this month. she was charged with being an accessory in a homicide. >>> firefighters across the country are in new york paying their respects to two fallen firefighters. a 62-year-old exconvict set his house on fire on christmas eve and shot a volunteer firefighters responding to the call. he killed two firefighters and wounded two others. a funeral for one of the firefighters will be held today. the other one will be laid to rest tomorrow. >> it's pretty sad. these guys re doing their job. exactly what they are trained to do. it's something that is hard to prepare for. >> the gunman was later found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. police think he may have killed his sister. >>> the
